About Dogwood Grove Goods
It all started with a mudflap.
In 2016, I signed up for a beginner leathercraft class at Tandy Leather — just trying to make something special for my husband CJ's Harley Davidson. I walked in curious and walked out completely hooked. What began as a one-day project turned into a passion that has shaped the last decade of my life.
My name is Kathy, and I'm a recently retired RN with 42 years of nursing behind me. I'm a wife, a mom to Zach, and a very proud grandmother to two beautiful grandchildren — Mila Kate and Sawyer. We're rooted in Calera, Alabama, where faith and family come first. CJ and I are members of First Baptist Church of Columbiana, and you'll find us in the choir on Sunday mornings.
Dogwood Grove Goods officially opened in October 2018, born out of that same love for craft and a desire to make quality leather goods that people will actually use — and pass down.
Every piece I make uses genuine leather: some full-grain, some top-grain, all real — sourced from bovine, sheep, or goat hides. No shortcuts, no synthetics. Just honest materials worked by hand.
My goal has always been simple: make something beautiful, make it to last, and make it affordable.
Thank you for being here. It means the world.
